Alexandra Carpenter Career
Alex began playing for the Boston College Eagles women’s ice hockey team in the fall of 2012 on July 22, 2010, when she was only 16 years old. On February 17th during her sophomore season, she got her 100th career point against UConn. During her junior season at Boston College in 2014-15, Carpenter got the Patty Kazmaier Award.
She made history in 2015 by being the first Boston College Eagles athlete to get the award. She was also the first member of the Hockey East conference to get the honor. Carpenter represented Team USA Under-18 in a three-game exhibition series against Canada’s best in Calgary, Alberta.
Her great work and performance helped the United States team win the Czech Challenging Cup in 2009. She also scored a goal and earned a gold medal for the United States team in the 2010 IIHF World Women’s Under 18 Championship games, but the team ultimately lost to Canada, and she or her team had to settle for a silver medal.
Alex Carpenter was chosen as the first player in the National Women’s Hockey League’s first draft in 2015. In August 2016, Alex returned to Boston College for her last season before being traded to the Boston Pride. At the completion of the 2016-17 season, she was the league’s second-highest scorer.
