Purcell, a qualified lawyer with a double degree in law and communications/politics, previously worked as a stripper, poledancer, topless waitress, digital campaigner at United Voice, communications adviser at Industry Super Australia, and Chief of Staff to Andy Meddick before being elected to the Victorian parliament.
Purcell criticized Nine News Melbourne in January 2024 for presenting a digitally altered image of her that featured “enlarged breats” and an exposed midriff, which were not present in the original image.
